Find Your Style

Your style does not have to be defined to one thing. As we grow and get older our style is constantly changing. Sometimes along the way we lose ourselves and are unsure how to express ourself through clothes anymore. Fashion helps us express who we are and what we stand for. The right outfit brings power and confidence to our daily lives. Finding that right fit and style will lead to a happier mindset and healthier life! Here are some tips and tricks to take control of your closet and present your happiest, most authentic self.

Tip #1 Take a Friend Shopping

Let's start from scratch. Forget about what is in your closet and what you think you like. Go shopping with an honest friend and let them pick out what they think will look good on you. This process will help you try new things from someone else's point of view. Even try stores you wouldn't imagine going into. The key is to try everything they pick so you start to get an idea of what feels right on you.

Tip #2 Create a Mood Board

Search keywords that you enjoy and create a mood board. Even if the photos aren't of clothing. Lookup celebrities, places, accessories, food, or even hobbies. This will help to get a sense of colors, designs, and textures you enjoy looking at. Put all the photos together and see if you see a common theme. When you shop, refer to your mood board to see if that item matches and goes along with the theme!

Tip #3 Accessorize

Accessories are a great way to change up your look without completely getting a new wardrobe. Spruce up an old outfit with some trendy fun jewelry! Add a hat, colorful purse, fun shoes, or layer up some necklaces. Jewelry and accessories help add the finishing touch to any outfit, so don't skip this step! Sunglasses are another great way to incorporate your style into an outfit.

Tip #4 Find the Right Fit

Jeans come in a million different fits, sizes, and styles. Personally, I stay away from mom jeans and boyfriend jeans because I know they don't have any stretch. When shopping I look for high rise, curvy, and jeans with spandex material in them. This also goes for dresses. I think loose fitting dresses drowns out my shape so I prefer a body con, fit and flare, or rompers! It's all about knowing what will fit your body shape best and what to look for on the tag while shopping.
